Fudo in Chamblee

The word Fudo, translated from Japanese, defines the spirit or essence of fantastic cuisine, rich life experiences, and free-spirited living. Just like the exquisite sushi that Fudo serves, the word’s meaning is a multi-layer construct rolled up into one. If you haven’t heard of Fudo, then you’re missing out on amazing Japanese cuisine that is certain to have you coming back at least weekly to continue exploring the huge and intriguing menu.

The appetizer menu, referred to within the restaurant as the small plates menu, is absolutely packed with delicious dish options. Some of the most popular items include stuffed jalapenos, pan-seared dumplings, Shumai, a variety of spring rolls, Edamame, Cauliflower in miso chili sauce, dynamite shrimp, and many more. What is great about the appetizers menu at Fudo is that the food is as meticulously prepared as their rolls and other main course entrees. The appetizers are freshly made just for you, acting as a mouthwatering bridge to more deliciousness yet to come.

If you’ve arrived at Fudo thirsty, then worry not, as there are as many drink options to choose from as there are sushi roll options. Choose from a long list of imported Japanese and Europeans beers, as well as classic and well known American staple beers. They also serve a long list of cocktails, from the Mandarin Oriental all the way to a Lychee Martini. Each cocktail is masterfully crafted by the restaurant’s expert bartenders. If you’re in the mood for sake or more traditional wine, then you’ll have so many options to choose from that it might be difficult to settle on just one pick.

Fudo’s sushi roll menu is truly a thing of beauty to behold. It contains all of the standard sushi roll combos that you would expect and a large line-up of in house created rolls. Choose from sushi rolls such as Spicy Mega Tuna, Double Dragon, Devil Rolls, Tomahawk Chop, Tuna on Fire, 007 Fried Roll, Pacific Ocean, Bang Bang Shrimp, and many others. Thankfully, Fudo offers large assortment platters which give you a chance to choose a variety of different sushi roll combos. Outside of their main roll menu, they also have a hand roll menu and an all-vegetarian line up to choose from. With so many sushi rolls to choose from, there is just no way that you could ever run out of new and exciting menu options to try out for the first time.

The dining space at Fudo could be accurately defined and hyper-modern, industrial, and relaxed. From the moment that I walked into the restaurant, it’s very easy to get a relaxed, which is exactly what the restaurant owners were aiming for. There are different stations within the restaurant which include the large main dining hall, a super cozy cocktail area, and the comfortable sushi bar.

Fudo is located within downtown Chamblee within the Parkview area on Peachtree. This elegant and inviting area of Chamblee is well known for fine dining, something that Fudo has become a local benchmark for.
