Imagine Music Festival 2018 Recap

Festival goers and musicians gathered for a fifth time at Atlanta Moor Speedway for Imagine Music Festival 2018. The festival celebrated its fifth anniversary with an even bigger lineup and more activities than ever before. Here’s a recap of the three days of camping, music, and non stop fun.

Friday Sept 21 .

Parking and camping setup was easy this year. Campers were able to set up quickly. As you walked up towards the infamous Imagine sign, it was clear that there were more vendors in attendance this year than in previous years. It’s safe to say no one ran into a shortage of food, water, gear or things to do. One of the coolest features, both literally and figuratively, was a splash pool with floaties and mermaids.

On the stages, the first day included an aquatic fashion show and some killer sets. On the main Oceania stage, Glitch Mob, Zaxx, Armin Van Buuren, 12th Planet and Galantis were just some of the acts. On three other stages you could find sick lasers flashing and bass dropping at all times.

Saturday Sept 22 .

After the musical feast on the first day, how could the second day be as good? Well, it was. Bassnectar, Lead Culver, Liquid Stranger and Adventure Club tore up the Oceania stage. Beyond the music, there were so many magical things to see and do this year, including LED art installations and a mystical ferris wheel.

The second day was even better than the first for all the other stages. It was definitely one of those times when it paid to bounce back and forth between stages. Over on the Amazonia stage, Zhu brought out some sick pyrotechnics that brought the whole place down. Over on the Disco Inferno stage, Green Velvet’s set was solid techno.

Sunday Sept 23 .

By the third day, there was still so much to do. Watching people dance at the silent disco or bet their possessions at the Frick Frack Black Jack was endlessly entertaining, especially when you could hear multiple stages going.

Zeds Dead maybe had the best setup of the entire festival on the third night. Their lasers and bass, along with Kaskade’s sparkles and dance beats, were the perfect ending for the magical Oceania stage.

This fifth-anniversary festival is going to be hard to top. Not only were the setlist and setups amazing, but the festival itself was run smoothly, allowing attendees to feel safe while getting their chill on. There were so many vendors and activities to do beyond the music sets. Improvements to this already well-done festival were noticeable, and the bar was raised pretty high. Can’t wait to see next year’s lineup.
